About Us

Hi There,

Thank you for looking at the “World Thru Our Eyes” – My name is Chad Josey. My wife Amanda and I will be your host as you travel the “World Thru Our Eyes.”

Who are we you may ask? Well, we are a married, professional couple who happen to have been American Expats living and working in Germany between December 31, 2012 to October 2016. Yes, we moved to Germany on New Year’s Eve, and the whole country welcomed us with fireworks 🙂 We returned to our home in New Jersey but still travel the world.

But, before talking about our current situation, here’s a little bit about who we are…

I am originally from the small town of Troutman, which is located in the western part of the US State of North Carolina about 45 minutes north of Charlotte. I graduated in 1995 from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, where I majored in Industrial Engineering. I also graduated in 1999 from Queens University of Charlotte with a Masters in Business Administration.

I am a project manager, supply chain consultant, and a quality & process management expert, with a ton of experience in different industries and companies, big and small. I enjoy traveling, photography, and writing; which this site serves as the creative outlet for these pursuits. You can also check out my author website at https://chadjosey.com

My wife Amanda, she is originally from the small town of Bath, which is located in the western part of the US State of New York about 1 hour south of Rochester in the Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York. She attended the University of Miami (Florida), the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and in 2008 completed her Ph.D. in Chemistry from North Carolina State University in Raleigh. So, yes…she’s a Doctor!

She also loves to travel and shop as well as spending time with family and friends. And more importantly, she puts up with me while I post our experiences as we work and travel the world.

We met in 1999 and were married in 2003, and it’s been an adventure since. We have lived in Charlotte & Raleigh, North Carolina, then to New Jersey, four years in Ludwigshafen, Germany in the State of the Rhineland-Palatinate, famous as the wine region of Germany — and, now back to New Jersey.

With the intros out of the way of who we are… why have I started this website??

It’s funny how I can still remember learning a poem in Mrs. Brown’s 8th Grade English (The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost) and how the meaning of it has changed over the many years since!  The one constant I find rings true is that time marches on and trying to remember all the experiences from traveling blurs together.

So, that’s the reason behind this blog, if you will.  To help document our travels, so in several years, we can look back and remember the sights, sounds, and experiences of our journeys. And, while we initially created this site for us, if we can help inspire your travels or provide advice along the way, then that’s a double bonus!
