Business Travel – the Best Way to See the World for Free

Have I mentioned how much I love my job and company?  Currently, I work as an internal Business Consultant supporting our business units to improve various aspects of their supply chain, business processes, and sales & marketing strategic development.  This position allows me to learn a lot about our company and I get to meet so many wonderful people.

So far in 2012, my work-related travels have taken me to Austin, TX (I’ve been here twice & it’s my favorite city in Texas).  In Alabama, I’ve spent a week in the northern part of the state in Huntsville & the southern part in Mobile (had some delicious seafood in Mobile).

When I visited Jackson, MS, a couple of people told me to try some chocolate pie?  It wasn’t until I watched ‘The Help’ that I got that joke!

I have visited some of our customers in Wilmington, NC; Columbus, GA; St. Louis, MO; Kansas City, MO; and Hartford, CT.

Spent a few days in New Orleans with our hotel being a block away from Bourbon Street.  We had dinner in one of Emeril’s restaurants NOLA and for a team-building event had a cajun/creole cooking class at the New Orleans School of Cooking, where I learn how to cook a mean jumbalaya.

Rounding out the first half of 2012, my work travels have also taken me to Minneapolis, Charlotte, Raleigh, Detroit, and Philadelphia.  My total airline flights so far this year is 41 (counting the connecting flights).
